Svetamber  &  Digamber have two different ways. Svetamber follows 8 days period  of festival of preaching, listening &  engrossing . It ends on the day of panchami. Samvatsari Pratikraman is  recital of  kalpasutra. 5 th day  is celebrated as Mahaveer  Jayanti.  Digambar starts from the day of Panchami & carry on recital of parthsutra. Anant Chaturdarshi  is the last day.

  Mahavir Jayanti:- Birthday of Bhagwan Mahavir is celebrated as Mahavir Jayanti. Bhagwan Mahavir was born on the 13^th day of month Chaitra. This  day is celebrated across the country with penance, sadhana, prayers and blissful feelings.

Diwali :- Aso vad Amas which is the last month of Jain year was the great day of  Mahavir Swami Nirvana. This was a day when he attained liberation. This day is observed with fastings, prayers and going to pilgrimage.
